General Description of the Role and Candidate:
You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial operational functions of the business including implementing a robust control and risk framework.
You will work closely with the Finance Director on development and implementation of the expanding strategic needs and goals for a fast-growing business.
You will support the CEO as needed on special projects.
The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant, with intimate understanding of general ledger / debit and credit accounting and willing to take on responsibilities to grow their work experience. The role can expand should the candidate wish to take on more responsibilities. You will be a problem solver, keenly focused on improving existing finance and operations functions. You will work across multiple teams and stakeholders in the business and should have excellent soft skills.
Finance:
- Manage accounting, monthly reporting and daily and monthly reconciliations, treasury, AP (minimal) / SPV non lending payments and general ledger processes
- Manage & deliver monthly management accounts for 2+ entities on wd+1, including analysis and reconcilations
- Cashflow forecasting and liquidity management
- Manage monthly payroll for c. 15
- VAT and PAYE returns, other statutory company returns including CRO returns
- Manage local Portuguese outsourced accountant which includes local payroll (c. 5 employees) and related expenditure
- Own relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including banks and external auditors
- Assist FD in implementing scalable and automated financial processes
- Build strong internal control environment which protects the business from risk
- PCF function authorised by CBI
HR:
- Assisting with the recruitment process
- Sending out contracts to new employees
- Updating HR System
- Manage the Induction of New employees
Other operational:
- Managing property leases and relate costs
- General office management
- Other tasks that may arise from time to time
About you:
- A qualified accountant, up to c. 2 years pqe
- Detailed understanding of month end reporting requirements and financial statements
- Willing to learn new skills
- Solutions orientated with strong problem-solving skills
- Confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organisation skills
- Ability to work in fast paced international environment
- Strategic in your thinking, can see things through a commercial and operational lens as opposed to just finance
- High proficiency in Microsoft office including Excel
- Customer focused in terms of outcomes
Incentives and Reward
GRID's Incentive and reward systems have been carefully designed to ensure that GRID is building a sustainable and impactful financial services business in Ireland.
Cash and equity reward systems are in place. Equity participation is available after 2 years of working in the business at the discretion of the business. Up to 5% matching of pension contribution, health and wellness, bike to work.
