IT SUPPORT ENGINEER – L1 / L2
Acumis Technology is an Awarding Winning Business Technology Specialist firm. The successful candidate will provide remote, telephone and on‑site support to our contracted customer base. Candidates will likely have a Microsoft or equivalent qualification.

About the role
The package includes a company vehicle, phone, laptop, 20 days holiday, ongoing training, remote work – hybrid office parking and social nights.

Responsibilities

Provision of technical support to client staff to facilitate delivery of business processes using the following systems: hardware (desktop, laptop, smartphones, iPhones, printers, servers, switches, routers, firewalls) and software (Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft 365, bespoke applications, website technologies).

Mission critical systems support (backup systems, disaster recovery, antivirus, malware, cyber security).

High quality, customer support provided in accordance with the client’s IT service delivery framework.

Perform proactive and preventative monitoring and maintenance on all systems and applications as appropriate.

Assist in project delivery (installations) as required.

Share information regarding new procedures and developments and demonstrate problem solving ability.

Ensure compliance with the client’s IT policy framework.

Perform software updates to the client’s systems as required.

Develop a comprehensive and detailed working knowledge of the client’s applications (both standard and bespoke).

Qualifications

Fluent spoken and written English.

At least 3 years hands‑on experience in a Desktop/Server Support Administrator role.

Excellent knowledge of Windows 11 operating system.

Working knowledge of Apple iOS.

Hardware build, maintenance and support experience.

Remote access technologies, network access control, security and connectivity issues.

Working knowledge of configuration of production virtual‑machine environments.

Good working knowledge of security technologies (firewalls, web proxies, email gateways).

Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues in a time‑critical and pressured environment.

A customer‑focused approach to service delivery.

Experience of dealing with workloads via call‑logging systems.

Excellent oral and written communication, and documentation skills.

Teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential.

Flexibility, self‑motivation, drive, initiative and ability to work under pressure.

Desired Experience

Working knowledge of critical Network Services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S).

Administration of MS Exchange Server.

Administration of Windows Server 2025 and 2022.

Router/firewall experience (WatchGuard, SonicWall) including Office VPN.

Experience with Microsoft 365 and Cloud technologies.

Virtualisation technology – VMware / Hyper‑V.
