Senior Manufacturing Engineers are directly involved in new product introductions, product transfers and maintaining/continuously improving existing product lines by ensuring time-efficient and cost-effective processes while maintaining overall product quality and compliance. Come for a job, stay for a career A Day in The Life Of: In this exciting role as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with manufacturing, quality engineers as well as R&D, Strategic Sourcing, Sterilisation and Packaging functions. You will be a member of a team for an NPI project. You will provide guidance to junior engineers regarding processes to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques as well as develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop these techniques. Work with the site on validation strategy and execution and may be involved in designing and planning layout for such activities as plastics processing, assembly and equipment implementation while adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Assist the site with the design and arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout. Demonstrate standout leadership behaviours and will have an expert understanding of a variety of manufacturing technologies and processes. Is an expert in understanding process improvement techniques such as DFMA, Kaizen, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, Lean manufacturing, 6-sigma and has highly developed project management skills. Key Skills & Experience Requires a Level 8 Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with minimum of 4 years relevant experience or Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or PhD with 0 years relevant experience. Manufacturing engineering experience in a medical device related industry, with a demonstrated track record of developing, maintaining and improving manufacturing processes. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Project Management of manufacturing processes from concept to delivery. Assesses project issues and develops solutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Strong Mechanical Aptitude (aptitude for understanding, designing and using machines and/or tools). Ability to prepare written procedures, proposals, and reports. Knowledgeable in risk management methodologies such as PFMEA and in manufacturing plant test strategies. Solid Works/AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project. Effective communication skills with superiors, peers and subordinates. Six Sigma/Lean certified preferred. Experience creating/processing engineering changes in Agile preferred. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
