What You'll Do as a Commercial Finance Manager - Retail
Working with leadership and key stakeholders, the Commercial Finance Manager – Retail provides financial support that is commercially sound to key strategic and operational areas of the Retail and International Expansion functions. The expectation is that this individual would be agile in providing support across initiatives as and when needed. This role requires a broad understanding of the wider Primark business strategy and an understanding of International Expansion growth pillar in driving this strategy. A successful candidate will draw on internal knowledge but also use external sources and comparatives to help them form views and approach to complex business questions.

In your role, you'll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here's a flavour of your day-to-day:

- Lead financial strategy and act as a trusted partner to Retail and International Expansion teams on key commercial initiatives.
- Deliver clear, insightful monthly financial updates, highlighting trading performance and areas for improvement.
- Provide strategic guidance through data-driven insights, identifying risks and opportunities for leadership action.
- Develop and monitor financial KPIs to measure business performance and strategic success.
- Analyze trading and operational performance to support profitability and growth.
- Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with global financial plans.
- Produce compelling financial analyses that identify issues, opportunities, and actionable solutions.
- Evaluate investment opportunities to support expansion and operational optimization.
- Champion innovation in financial business partnering, leveraging external research and fresh thinking.
- Drive forward-looking financial planning to maximize value creation.
- Partner cross-functionally to enhance operational efficiency and align with strategic priorities.
- Act as the key finance liaison for Franchise partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

What You'll Bring

- Qualified accountant and/or MBA with 5+ years in a strategic or commercially focused finance role.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to deliver clear, actionable insights.
- Experience in fast-paced environments, ideally within retail or FMCG sectors.
- Proven ability to design and implement investment appraisal and governance processes.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally to drive strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to structure business cases with appropriate levels of rigour.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on value creation and long-term impact.
- Curious and informed about market trends, with the ability to translate insights into action.
- Skilled in managing multiple priorities and delivering results in unstructured settings.
- Adept at building relationships and influencing across diverse teams and functions.
- Self-motivated, agile, and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment.
