Senior PHP Software Engineer Our client, a major European digital company operating at scale in the consumer experience sector, is seeking an experienced backend engineer to join its core product and search domain. Hybrid working in Dublin 6-month day rate contract Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services using PHP within a modern framework. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design effective technical solutions. Support improvements to search logic, catalogue structures, and system performance. Participate in architectural discussions and solution design sessions. Review code and share technical expertise with team members. Maintain strong test coverage and follow CI/CD practices. Work effectively with distributed and offshore teams. Contribute to ongoing improvements in development workflows and system reliability. Required Experience: 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally with PHP and Symfony. Strong understanding of SDLC and modern engineering practices. Experience building RESTful APIs and backend integrations. Solid knowledge of relational databases and data modelling. Comfortable with containerised and cloud-based environments. Strong grounding in clean code, SOLID principles, and common design patterns. Experience with automated testing, CI, and Git-based workflows. Ability to take ownership and deliver high-quality solutions independently. Applicants must be eligible to work full-time in Ireland without restriction.
