About the Role: Coinbase is seeking a QA Team Lead for its Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) function. You’ll report to the CQA Manager and help build a best-in-class QA program focused on AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, and transaction monitoring . The role involves building review programs, creating metrics-driven insights, and developing a skilled QA team that ensures Coinbase meets evolving global compliance standards.
Design and implement a risk-based QA program for:
Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
PEP/Sanctions screening
AML alert investigations
Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
Apply statistical and risk-based sampling methodologies to evaluate control effectiveness.
Build scoring and reporting systems that surface actionable QA metrics .
Create standardized templates and checklists to improve review efficiency.
Lead QA reviews, coach team members , and build a culture of excellence.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine compliance procedures.
Stay current on AML and sanctions regulations to evolve QA practices.
Oversee project management and execution of key QA initiatives.
Proven experience in Quality Assurance, Compliance Testing, or Audit in financial services, especially in AML or crypto .
Familiarity with multiple AML systems and strong understanding of KYC, CFT, and sanctions regulations .
Strong data analysis and reporting skills .
Excellent communication, problem-solving , and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets , and PowerPoint/Google Slides .
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related discipline.
Preferred (Nice to Haves): Experience in crypto or blockchain environments.
Familiarity with data tools: SQL, Tableau, SAS, Snowflake .
Background in Big 4 firms or financial services regulators .
Certifications such as: CAMS, CFCS, CFE, or CRCM.
