What is the opportunity?

The Software Engineering Systems team within ADI’s Engineering Enablement group is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. In this role, you will design, deploy, and manage observability platforms to provide insights into system and service availability and performance.

What will I be doing?

- Contribute to design and architecture of observability solutions, ensuring they are scalable, resilient, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Continuously monitor and tune system performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to optimize resource utilization.
- Integrate various observability tools (e.g., Thanos, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) with existing infrastructure to provide comprehensive monitoring and logging capabilities.
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure observability is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure observability solutions comply with relevant security standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive data.
- Develop and maintain incident response protocols, including automated alerting and escalation processes to minimize downtime.
- Write scripts to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Document processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.
- Play an active role in mentoring and the career development of other engineers.

What skills do I need?

- 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role.
- Familiarity with site reliability engineering principles and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of observability tools such as Thanos, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and others.
- Experience in setting up and managing monitoring, logging, and tracing systems.
- Deep knowledge of containerization and packaging using technologies such as Docker or Podman.
- Demonstrated experience with containerization and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker Swarm.
- Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python for automation tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions across a distributed team.
