Part‑time Accounts Assistant – 1 day onsite
Barden is working with an innovative start‑up to find an Accounts Assistant on a part‑time permanent basis (5 mornings per week, hybrid). This role offers flexibility for a finance professional and will add value across the finance function while working closely with the Finance Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Assist with monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting, budget preparation, and ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Manage the Accounts Payable function.

Support annual audits, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., VAT, Intrastat, statistical surveys) and uphold internal financial controls.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations, manage intercompany balances, and oversee financial aspects of stock and goods in transit.

Assist with payment runs, vendor onboarding, staff purchase orders, and general administrative tasks.

Engage in process improvement initiatives and contribute to group projects.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organisational capabilities.

Self‑motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.

Understanding of VAT principles is desirable.
