Job Title: Performance Tester Location: Waterford, Ireland (2 days per month onsite) Job Type: Full-Time About the Role Our client, a global leader in financial services, is seeking an experienced Performance Tester to join their Performance Engineering Team based in Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity to work on mission-critical, large-scale systems - ensuring applications remain reliable, scalable, and high-performing in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Design, plan, execute, and analyse performance testing strategies for enterprise-grade applications. Develop, maintain, and optimise performance testing scripts and automation tools. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application performance bottlenecks in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams. Integrate performance testing seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery. Assist with diagnosing and resolving production performance issues. Mentor and guide junior testers, reviewing their deliverables to ensure best practices are followed. Key Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience in performance engineering, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity. Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter, or Selenium. Deep understanding of APM tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic. Proven expertise in performance analysis for: Java-based applications Containerised or serverless environments Databases (MSSQL, Oracle, DynamoDB) JavaScript-based front-end systems Solid knowledge of both Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems. Experience working with AWS and integrating testing within CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Go, along with SQL and version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
