Medical Social Worker, maternity service – Cork
In partnership with our client, the HSE, Cpl Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Medical Social Worker for maternity service based in Cork city.
This is a full time locum role, we will consider candidates for at staff grade and senior grade level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a medical social work department of a leading maternity service.
The duties of the position include:
· The management of delivery of a medical social work service to inpatient and outpatients in a maternity setting
· To act as designated officer in child protection / welfare cases as they arise
· Liaise with multi-disciplinary members to arrange pre-birth and discharge planning
· Supervise undergraduate student
· Develop and maintain management information system
·
The Candidate:
· A recognised qualification as a Social Worker with CORU registration
· A minimum of 3-5 years post graduate experience working as a social worker ideally with some supervisory / management experience in order to be considered for a senior position
· Candidates applying for a staff grade role will ideally have some previous equivalent experience, placement experience will be considered
· Excellent knowledge of child protection legislation and guidelines
· Permission to work in Ireland
· Professional approach to work
· Flexibility in work practice
