Job Summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd based in Blackrock, Dublin is seeking an Infrastructure DevOps Manager to support the company move to the cloud (AWS). This role is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring that systems are reliable and releases are swift and secure. This leadership position oversees the adoption of DevOps practices, ensuring that teams are equipped with the tools, processes, and culture necessary to enhance efficiency, reliability, and speed in deploying applications. With a strategic mindset, the Infrastructure DevOps Manager aligns technical objectives with business goals, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. Your Role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Develop and set the DevOps strategy in alignment with organizational goals.

- Lead and manage DevOps teams to ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between software development and IT operations.

- Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines) to streamline software development and deployment processes.

- Oversee the design, maintenance, and management of tools and infrastructure to support scalable and secure software solutions.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of the applications and infrastructure.

- Oversee vendor performance and Incident response.

- Ensure system reliability and availability through robust backup and disaster recovery practices.

- Facilitate continuous testing and quality assurance practices to maintain high standards of software delivery.

- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging and implementing feedback loops in development processes.

- Collaborating with IT & Business teams to ensure that IT infrastructure aligns with the needs of software deployments and updates.

- Stay abreast of new trends and best practices in DevOps, and integrating new and innovative technologies into the organization.

- Provide mentorship, guidance, and career development to members of the DevOps team.

- Maintain evidence of compliance for audit and governance.

Your Skills and Experience

Your skills and experience will include:

- 5–7+ years’ leadership experience in IT/cloud infrastructure

- Experience leading a migration from on prem to cloud.

- Expertise in AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code, Terraform, Ansible, Git and Git Actions (or equivalent)

- Deep knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS)

- Experience managing offshore teams and large‑scale environments

- Strong communicator, collaborator, and strategic thinker

- Proven ability to deliver in a high‑governance, fast‑paced setting

- Must be highly energetic, analytical, self‑driven with attention to details.

- Ability to lead, delegate responsibility and able to work under own initiative, with minimal supervision

- Ability to co‑ordinate IT Infrastructure activities to identify service‑impacting issues and relationships

- Strong relationship management to influence internal and external delivery teams

- Understand the requirements of a regulated business

- Excellent communication skills and experience of communicating to different audiences, including senior management, with the ability to describe technical issues in technical and non‑technical manner
