Position Commercial Underwriter Key responsibilities: UnderwritingofRenewalPoliciesandProcessingRenewaldocumentationinlinewithunderwriting authority QuotationandBindingofNewBusinessinlinewithunderwritingauthority InteractionwithourBrokerNetworkinacourteousandprofessionalmanner AssistintraininganddevelopmentofJuniorcommercialunderwritingstaff. Adherencetotheprevailingriskappetiteassetdownbytheboard. Assistinachievingannualincomegrowthasprovidedbytheboard. Assist in managing loss ratio performance in tandem with growth to acceptable levels of our Capital Providers AccompanytheCommercialManagerorSalesManageronpre-agreedbrokervisitstowiden broker support or solidify existing relationships. Assistinensuringdepartmentalconsistencyinhowtodealwithsupportingbrokers. While providing terms to ensure adherence to the Binder of any given Capital Provider regarding risk acceptance, sums insured and rates charged. Whiledealingwithbrokers,adherencetocompliancewiththeCPCanditsupdatesalongwith any other directives from the regulator, EU directivesor other Government agencies relative to the commercial department Adheretocompanypolicyinregardadvertising,productawarenessandcustomerservice. Follow directives as provided by the Board or Commercial Manager in connection with the running, strategy and direction of the Commercial Department. Ensure service levels of KennCo are kept up to standard, to include document flow, account queries, complaints, referrals etc. Bestpracticefromadepartmentefficiencyandserviceviewpoint Assistanceinsalesanalysis Assistanceinratingfeedbackonownandmarketproducts AssistanceinProductDevelopment,wordingsandpricingwhendirectedto AssistwithinsurerauditinconjunctionwiththeComplianceDepartment Other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Board / Directors/Management. Key Requirements; Experience, Qualifications and Skills: Atleast5yearsofexperienceintheInsuranceIndustry. MinimumAPAcommercialqualificationisrequiredhoweverCIPisdesired. Strongteamplayerwithabilitytobuildrelationshipswithintheteam. Excellentcommunicationskills-bothwrittenandoral Commitmenttocontinuousimprovementofqualityandefficiency Effective time management and organisational skills Abilitytoworkunderpressureandonowninitiative.
