Job Description Job Title: System Administrator Department: IT Reports to: IT Manager Date: 2025 Role Overview The Mission of Beacon Hospital is to provide quality patient care in an environment that is respectful, compassionate and caring We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to support and manage the full suite of ManageEngine IT management tools across the hospitals infrastructure. This is a critical role within our IT team, responsible for ensuring that IT services are secure, efficient, and compliant supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will be the primary administrator for the ManageEngine suite, playing a key role in system configuration, integration, monitoring, and support. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a complex and regulated healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and support the full range of ManageEngine solutions, including but not limited to: oEndpoint Central (Unified Endpoint Management) oServiceDesk Plus (ITSM) oOS Developer and Imaging oVulnerability Management oPatch Manager Plus oAsset Management oADAudit Plus oADManager Plus oMobile Device Manager oDevice Access Management Ensure platform availability, performance, and integration across all relevant systems and services including but not limited to Windows/Linux Server, Active Directory, Domain Controller, DNS, DHCP. Maintain configurations and workflows for IT service management (ticketing, change management, asset tracking). Configure and manage patch management, device compliance, asset lifecycle management, and automated deployment. Configure and manage monitoring and alerting for servers, network devices, and critical infrastructure. Collaborate with IT operations, clinical informatics, and cybersecurity teams to support safe, secure delivery of IT services. Generate reports and dashboards to assist with compliance, audits, and operational oversight. Provide documentation, knowledge base content, and user training as needed. Actively participate in system upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and project delivery. Person Specification Qualifications Recognised IT certification or training Experience (Amount and Type) Minimum 35 years experience in a System Administrator, IT Systems Engineer, or similar technical support role within a mid-to-large organisation Proven hands-on experience with ManageEngine tools in a multi-module or enterprise deployment Experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and endpoint devices Familiarity with ITIL-based service management processes and working in regulated environments such as healthcare, finance, or the public sector Experience participating in system upgrades, patch cycles, compliance reporting, and infrastructure projects Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge Proficient in the administration and integration of ManageEngine modules (e.g. Endpoint Central, ServiceDesk Plus, Patch Manager Plus) Strong understanding of system monitoring, endpoint compliance, patch management, and asset lifecycle tracking Knowledge of ITSM workflows including incident, change, and asset management Competency with infrastructure components such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP Familiarity with regulatory standards including GDPR, NIS2, and general cybersecurity principles Basic scripting knowledge (e.g. PowerShell) to support automation and reporting (desirable) Ability to interpret technical issues and apply structured, effective problem resolution Personal Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail Excellent documentation and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to clearly record processes, issues, and solutions Self-motivated and accountable with the ability to manage priorities independently Effective communicator, able to translate technical topics for non-technical users and collaborate across teams Organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting Committed to service quality, operational stability, and continuous improvement Team-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset Willingness to pursue further certification as part of career progression This job description is intended to be an outline of the areas of responsibility and deliverables at the time of its writing.
