Saint John of God Community Services clg provides services for people with intellectual disability in four regions of Ireland: two Dublin Regions, the North East and Kerry. The company also provides adult mental health, child, and adolescent psychiatry services in the Dublin region. It provides a range of supports to approximately 6,800 children and adults with over 3,000 staff and volunteers. Quality And Safety Advisor Full Time Permanent Position Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position to work as a member of the Quality and Safety team within the Programme, Quality and Safety Department to provide supports on all matters throughout Saint John of God Community Services relating to quality and safety activities, practice improvement, and compliance with regulations and standards under the Health Act 2007 as regulated by HIQA, and other relevant legislative requirements including Mental Health Commission regulatory compliance. The department provides expertise, advice, training and support to assist in the implementation of an organisation wide Quality and Safety framework which ensures the organisation achieves its mission, attains strategic corporate objectives, and continuously improves its performance in delivering services. As a resource for staff, we aim to promote continuous improvement through shared learning and Practice Development. One of the primary functions of the Advisor is to carry out audits in residential and respite designated centres on behalf of the registered provider across all regions and prepare written reports on the safety and quality of care and support provided in the locations. The successful candidate must be flexible, committed and have the following. Possess an appropriate third level qualification in health or social care (equivalent to QQI Level 7). Minimum of two years experience in the health/social care setting, with knowledge in the area of intellectual disability. Experience in mental health services desirable but not essential. Excellent knowledge and a proven track record in delivering Person Centred Services in line with best practices, which meet a high quality and safety standard. Excellent knowledge and understanding of HIQA/MHC regulations, HIQA national standards and other relevant legislative requirements under the Health Act 2007 and experience of quality systems in practice. Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to use initiative, work under pressure, achieve deadlines and effective time management. Knowledge and experience in implementing HSE National Policies, including Person Centred Planning, Risk Management, the HSE Incident Management Framework, the HSE National Policy on Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons, etc. Excellent skills in auditing, report writing, provision of training and data analysis. Display effective interpersonal and communication skills for team working and a flexible approach within the role. Proven ability in the area of continuous quality improvement and practice development.
