AI Product Manager

What you will do:
- In this role, you will report to the founder and CEO to define the bigger picture. As part of the team, you will:
- Research AI and industry-specific trends
- Identify opportunities where advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can solve specific needs
- Reimagine AI-first digital products/offerings/capabilities and align cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams to create, launch, and maintain AI-powered products/solutions for use internally or in the external market
- Manage an AI product roadmap that clearly maps future releases to long-term AI product strategy
- Deliver AI product increments using Agile best practices for data science
- Innovate fast. Define Minimal Viable Products (MVP) and build effective feedback loops
- You will be directly responsible for:
- Managing the AI product backlog including:
- A list of product ideas
- Break down the backlog into bite-sized pieces of value
- Ensure the backlog is transparent and understood
- Prioritize backlog items
- Steer AI product development:
- Identify the appropriate model and business outcome metrics to measure the product success; monitor and track model and product performance against these metrics
- Work with data scientists, ML engineers, analysts, and software developers to guide the development of the AI product
- Drive market success:
- Work with marketing teams to launch the product
- Own the AI product throughout the entire data science product life cycle. This extends beyond the project to make the product and includes ML Ops
- Drive value from the product by evangelizing usage and (if needed) monetizing the product
- Ensure the product and data usage complies with responsible AI best practices
Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in Digital Product Management with at least 2+ years in emerging tech-based product management
- BSc in Computer Science or Engineering degree. Masters preferred.
- Understanding of cloud-based software applications, traditional AI/ML modelling techniques, and Generative AI systems.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills, including the ability to effectively partner, problem-solve, and influence others.
- A unique combination of problem-solving, analytical and strong project management skills across business and IT
- Must be a strategic thinker, able to execute at a tactical level
- Proven ability to understand and balance distribution needs and considerations with risk management considerations to achieve desired objectives.
- Strong customer focus, with a track record of using customer insights to shape AI product strategy and drive detailed trade-offs.
- Adept at analysing competitive and adjacent AI products and using those insights to improve the product and anticipate competitive threats before they happen.
- Ability to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business priorities, manage conflict and articulate the rationale behind decisions.
- Successful at leading complex projects and demonstrated ability as a thought leader.
- Makes decisions confidently and wisely, adequately considering alternatives.
- Demonstrates high levels of judgment, ownership and accountability.
- High energy and the willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Vocally self-critical and focused on continuous improvement of self, team and product.
- Creative thinker and problem solver who can confidently express complex ideas in an articulate, concise manner.
- Strong technology acumen and seeks to understand emerging AI technologies in partnership with other stakeholders
- Proven abilities regarding talent development, including attracting, developing and retaining talent.
- Proficient in cultivating a strong personal network across the organization
- Develops other AI product owners to demonstrate similar skills and qualifications.
- Experience with Amazon AWS and RDS
