This role is focused on supporting the management and maintenance of on-premises and AWS-based Proving and Pre-Production environments, enhancing capabilities within the Environment Management Service (EMS) function for our financial services client. This position requires technical project management skills to ensure the efficient operation, troubleshooting, and continual improvement of critical environments. Key Accountabilities Stakeholder Management: Oversee stakeholder use of shared resources, employing plans, schedules, and communication to optimize usage. Environment Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Ensure the stability of environments, addressing technical issues alongside stakeholders as they arise. Activity Monitoring: Observe environments for any irregular activity, proactively initiating investigations. Fidelity Management: Regularly verify environment fidelity, identifying and resolving inconsistencies. User Access Review: Enforce least privilege principles by auditing and adjusting user access as required. Project Coordination: Facilitate cross-functional communication to maximize efficient use of environments. Deployment Management: Organize and oversee deployments, coordinating across teams to avoid unexpected issues. Server Decommissioning: Lead efforts to decommission unused servers, optimizing resource allocation. Cost Allocation: Track and allocate costs to projects according to usage. Tooling & Monitoring: Ensure EMS tooling is operational and effective, addressing any functionality issues. Change Management: Review and approve change requests within environments. Service Requests: Initiate and assign service requests as needed. Reporting: Provide weekly and monthly reports to senior management on EMS activities and status. Essential Skills & Experience 4-5 years of technical project management experience in a similar role. Proficiency with enterprise solutions on-premises and in the cloud (AWS), including UNIX, Windows, and back-end systems such as mainframe/AS400. Knowledge of operating systems, infrastructure, and middleware. Strong organizational skills and multitasking capabilities. Excellent communication skills, able to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven experience driving continuous improvements within a team or department. Adaptability to deliver solutions with limited or evolving information. Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience Degree or relevant qualification in a related field.
