Security Engineer Location: Dublin Employment Type: Permanent Salary: €45,000 - €60,000 A growing security function is expanding its engineering capability and bringing on an early-career Security Engineer to support the build, configuration, and improvement of core security tooling and controls. This role focuses on hands-on technical work across cloud, endpoint, identity, network, and internal platforms-ideal for someone who wants to work directly with security technologies rather than support queues. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to design, implement, and tune security measures that support ongoing modernisation efforts and internal technology initiatives. The Role You'll contribute to the engineering and deployment of security controls, help automate routine tasks, and assist in improving the organisation's overall defensive posture. The work spans multiple technical domains and gives you direct visibility into how systems are built, integrated, and secured from the ground up. Key Responsibilities * Assist in deploying and maintaining security tooling across cloud and on-prem environments * Support automation and scripting for configuration, monitoring, and policy enforcement * Contribute to identity and access control improvements, including baseline reviews * Help implement endpoint hardening, policy tuning, and configuration updates * Work with network and cloud teams to apply secure configurations and updated control sets * Participate in vulnerability reviews and remediation engineering * Assist with log ingestion, alert tuning, and signal improvement across platforms * Document configurations, runbooks, and engineering workflows * Support small-scale internal projects requiring basic threat modelling or secure configuration advice Skills & Experience * 1-2 years' experience in security, infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, or related technical roles * Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar) * Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals-networking, identity, OS, or cloud basics * Exposure to security tooling such as EDR, SIEM, IAM, or CSPM * Strong interest in hands-on security engineering, automation, and building secure systems * Certifications (Security+, CC, cloud fundamentals) are beneficial but not required Reperio Human Capital acts as an Employment Agency and an Employment Business.
