This role focuses exclusively on domestic routes, offering the stability of a Monday to Friday schedule from 08:30 to 17:30. You will be responsible for planning efficient, cost-effective delivery and collection routes for a fleet operating across Ireland. This role is ideal for someone with strong geographical knowledge of the Irish road network, including key industrial estates and regional transport hubs. The position demands a sharp eye for detail, the ability to think ahead and the competence to optimise route planning to maximise productivity while ensuring compliance and service standards. Responsibilities: Plan daily and weekly delivery and collection routes for vehicles operating within Ireland. Optimise route efficiency to reduce fuel costs and improve delivery times. Maintain awareness of Irish road networks, traffic patterns, and industrial estate layouts. Monitor and respond to route disruptions, traffic incidents and delays in real time. Liaise with drivers and operations staff to ensure clarity and alignment of route plans. Review performance data and suggest improvements to existing routing strategies. Ensure that planned routes adhere to all relevant regulations, including driver hours and vehicle limits. Support operational reporting with route performance insights. Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer service standards are maintained. Requirements: Proven experience in route planning within logistics or transportation sectors. In-depth knowledge of Irelands road network and industrial estate locations. Strong understanding of route planning software and GPS systems. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities. Strong communication skills for driver liaison and internal coordination. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
