ESG Reporting Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an ESG Reporting Specialist to lead and manage sustainability reporting processes, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and EU Taxonomy. This role will be central in shaping and implementing sustainability reporting strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG principles into business operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a structured roadmap for annual CSRD and EU Taxonomy reporting, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
2. Lead the execution of CSRD-compliant reporting processes.
3. Coordinate and update the double materiality assessment (DMA) to align with key ESG priorities.
4. Define reporting requirements and oversee data collection processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with regulations.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to refine policies, establish metrics, and develop ESG action plans.
6. Consolidate and validate ESG data for integration into annual financial statements.
7. Establish an audit-ready control framework and governance structure for sustainability reporting.
8. Manage the assurance process, including digital tagging and verification of sustainability reports.
9. Provide guidance and support to internal data providers during audits and compliance assessments.
10. Implement and oversee ESG data management and reporting tools.
11. Track reporting progress, providing regular updates to senior management.
12. Stay informed on evolving ESG reporting standards and regulatory changes, acting as a subject-matter expert.
13. Educate and train internal stakeholders on sustainability reporting requirements.
14. Participate in additional projects and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

1. A degree in Accountancy, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. 1-3 years of experience in sustainability/ESG reporting, financial reporting, audit, or regulatory compliance.
3. Strong knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks, particularly CSRD and EU Taxonomy, is preferred.
4. Experience in ESG data management, analysis, and reporting tools is advantageous.
5. Ability to interpret and implement new regulatory reporting requirements.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams and external stakeholders.
