Job Title: Cable Harness Technician Company: APH Harness Manufacturing Ltd Department: Manufacturing Reports To: Production Manager / Quality Manager Job Summary APH Harness Manufacturing Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Cable Harness Technician with 5 years of hands-on expertise in cable harness assembly and quality control. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, deep knowledge of industry standards, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant harness builds. This role involves assembling complex harness systems and ensuring adherence to aerospace, automotive, and industrial requirements. Key Responsibilities Cable Harness Assembly Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Assemble complex cable and wire harnesses using crimping, soldering, stripping, and termination methods. Ensure all harnesses meet required specifications and industry standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620). Perform rework, repairs, and modifications as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and quality requirements. Quality Control Conduct inspections of harness assemblies at various production stages. Use electrical testing equipment such as continuity testers and hipot testers to verify product integrity. Document and report defects or nonconformances, supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and internal quality procedures. Required Qualifications 5 years of hands-on experience in cable harness assembly and quality control. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and documentation. Deep knowledge of industry standards including IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent. Proficiency with electrical testing equipment (continuity, insulation resistance, hipot). Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or equivalent industry credential. Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing environments. Familiarity with ERP systems, digital documentation tools, and production tracking software. Working Conditions Full-time position; overtime may be required based on production schedules. Hands-on role in a manufacturing production environment.
