Switchboard Operator/Receptionist - Clerical Officer III
Based at Blarney Rehabilitation Unit and any buildings within the Mercy University Hospital Complex.
Permanent Contract, Full Time Hours.
Responsibilities Include:
Operate Communication Systems-Switchboard
Answer Incoming and Outgoing Calls and Transfer Calls to the appropriate departments.
As the first point of contact, deal with queries from internal/external callers in a professional and caring manner.
Provide Information to internal and external callers.
Active Major Incident Plan if required.
Order Taxis for Patients and Staff
Direct Patients, Relatives and Visitors to the appropriate Clinics/Wards/Departments
Clerical Duties i.e. Signing for Packages in Reception
Qualifications and Experience:
Leaving Certificate/Equivalent.
Previous Switch/Reception experience work desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good Computer Skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work in a busy environment.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Be able to make decisions and deal with emergencies in a calm and efficient manner.
