Your Responsibilities as Cogito Clarity Database Administrator
As a Cogito Administrator for an Epic system, you will be configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Cogito reporting databases to align with the environment strategy. Your key responsibilities include:
  • Configuring and maintaining the Cogito databases according to the environment strategy.
  • Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources.
  • Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Managing the logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration.
  • Applying RDMS upgrades and updates to production and non-production environments.
  • Performing database backups and verifying restores.
  • Participating in Change Control processes for all planned applications and technical activities.
  • Ensuring Epic database changes are communicated to the necessary teams across the enterprise.
  • Working closely with other databases, environment/infrastructure and internal/external enterprise security teams.
  • Providing on call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues.

Requirements for the Role
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A degree qualified in a relevant field (Data Science or STEM subject) or equivalent experience.
  • A working knowledge of the database operating systems.
  • Technical experience in MS SQL Server analytical database platforms.
  • The ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with Epic Systems and RDBMS Certification preferably Microsoft SQL Server are desirable.
