Job Description Summary Reporting to the EHS & Facilities Manager, the primary focus of this position will be responsible for the upkeep of the factory utilities, facilities, and grounds in particular HVAC Systems, Water Systems, Clean Utilities and Contractor Management. You will oversee systems that include heating, lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, water purification, air filtering, and electrical systems. You will be expected to also be able and willing to take a hands-on approach to solving issues quickly and ensure the factory is maintained to the required level. Become a maker of possible with us Our vision for Peripheral Intervention (PI) at BD Our Peripheral Intervention (PI) business unit offers a comprehensive range of medical products, devices and services for the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease, cancer detection, and end-stage renal disease and maintenance. About the role As the Facilities Technician, you perform preventative maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot problems. Repair equipment and systems when they break, and must document everything actioned. To be successful in this role, you must be able to understand, recommend and install new systems. Provide and add corrections to Standard Operating Procedures and assist engineers in evaluating new equipment or technology. Replace equipment and components as necessary with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and major trades, such as carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration is required. You will conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with all requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the position. Maintain accurate records for reporting. You may be required to do both interior or exterior hands-on maintenance duties (such as floor and facility cleaning, furniture moving, snow removal, landscaping). Main responsibilities will include: Conduct work on Electrical systems, BMS Systems, HVAC, Boiler Control Systems and emergency lighting systems and process / manufacturing equipment. Complete work on building services including Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Systems, Building Fabric, etc. Conduct Mechanical and Electrical maintenance including fault finding. Completion of facility repair work (General day to day facility maintenance and repairs) Liaise with supplier and contract companies to ensure maintenance and calibration activities are completed on time. Ensure all contractors on site are compliant with onsite Health and Safety and GMP standards and procedures. Participate on project teams with engineers, technicians and other professionals of various disciplines/departments to continuously improve our manufacturing environments and processes. Support facility validations and manufacturing area qualifications as required. Manage the CMMS system for all facilities and utilities assets and instruments Update the plant calibration and preventative maintenance schedules as required for new equipment or updates on existing equipment. Other Responsibilities may include, however are not limited to: Support other functions in software validation of equipment controls such as Building management systems, facility controls, process equipment controls, HR administrative systems etc. About you: Successful completed a Trade's Certificate or qualified in a technical discipline. Fundamental understanding of mechanical, electrical and other utility systems. Up to 2 years Electrical & HVAC facilities experience, with high levels of flexibility and innovation. Experience in Facility Equipment fault finding and maintenance activities. Knowledge of Electrical systems, BMS Systems, HVAC, Boilers, Boiler Control Systems and emergency lighting systems. Experience in building services (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Systems, Building Fabric, etc) Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivated. Excellent report writing and PC literate. Cleanroom experience is an advantage but not essential. Ability to assess urgency and impact (e.g., safety-critical vs. routine maintenance).
