About the Role
In healthcare, evolution requires innovation, imagination, and a passion for solving problems in new ways. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Analytics Infrastructure and Engineering Team at Optum, you will lead the development of platforms and tools that enable AI and ML engineers to build complex models. Your responsibilities will extend beyond traditional software development to include operational maturity, compliance management, and vulnerability oversight. You will implement cutting‑edge automation and technologies, enhance user experiences, and empower teams through innovative solutions with a strong focus on security, API integration, and collaborative teamwork.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, architect, and develop secure software applications and components with efficient API integration.

Ensure solutions meet the highest security standards, including secure coding practices, encryption, data protection, and regulatory compliance.

Create and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to facilitate seamless communication between front‑end, back‑end, and third‑party services.

Conduct peer design/code reviews, develop automated test cases, and maintain industry best practices for scalability, maintainability, usability, availability, extensibility, security, and portability.

Collaborate with product management, AI/ML engineers, and stakeholders to develop and refine solutions that meet business needs.

Leverage the latest technologies to solve complex problems in the healthcare industry, with a particular focus on enhancing security and API capabilities.

Drive continuous integration/validation and champion DevOps best practices, including automation tools and methodologies to streamline development processes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Proven experience in the software development life‑cycle with a strong background in full‑stack development.

Proficiency in SQL, Angular, React, Java, jQuery, TypeScript, and Node.js.

Experience developing and integrating secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

Knowledge of secure coding practices and implementation of authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection.

Experience with Git or similar version‑control tools, emphasizing collaborative development.

Solid grasp of object‑oriented programming concepts, clean‑code principles, and a commitment to security best practices.

Ability to tackle complex challenges in the healthcare domain with innovative and secure solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare (e.g., HIPAA).

A portfolio of projects demonstrating expertise in secure applications and API integrations.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
