What you’ll do

Job Description / Capsule

Field-based position responsible for implementation of activities for establishment of scientific leadership of AstraZeneca. This includes development and enhancement of professional relationships with healthcare professionals, building deep scientific understanding of AstraZeneca compounds. Driving positive opinions for the scientific and clinical value of AZ compounds for patients’ needs. Deliver medical education and clinical support to medical professionals, training sales teams and involvement in development of brand strategy. The position may also be involved in review of product materials and response to medical queries.

Responsibilities

External Medical & Scientific engagement

1. Build, enhance and maintain the engagement with scientific leaders (KEEs)
2. Build AZ relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g. patient advocacy groups, key medical organisations, hospital pharmacy).
3. Develop or initiate scientific programs to explore unmet medical needs in priority disease area(s).

Medical & Scientific Support for internal stakeholders

1. Continuously acquire and update necessary scientific knowledge on therapeutic area and relevant compounds.
2. Provide the AZ internal stakeholders with an understanding of the local medical community, clinical practice, trends and real or perceived gaps in current scientific knowledge and medical treatment, competitor information.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

1. Bachelor’s Degree or working towards a professional qualification.
2. Thorough knowledge or experience of the pharmaceutical industry and the area of field medical liaisons.
3. Ability to interact and manage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
4. Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical sales and marketing.

Desirable

1. Advanced scientific degree.
2. Understanding of multiple aspects within Medical Liaisons.
3. Project and team management experience.
