Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner for Processing, you will operate flexibly as part of a team with responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of a range of HR support services to management and employees in the Athlone Mail Centre (AMC). With a strong emphasis on customer service, you will act to ensure that the provision of HR support to the leadership team and employees is consistently to a high standard. You will have a day to day working relationship with the Plant Manager and will be part of the senior leadership team in Athlone Mail Centre. PLEASE NOTE: This is a one-year specific purpose contract. The principal responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following: Support the delivery of strategic and local initiatives by ensuring the relevant stakeholders are included in the conversation. Work collaboratively with the Plant Manager and the AMC leadership team to ensure the staffing requirements of the Plant are understood, and met, through a combination recruitment and / or resource reallocation in line with Company policies and procedures. Undertake selection activity, including shortlisting, chairing selection boards and providing candidate feedback, as required. Handle retirements, career break applications, resignations and extension requests promptly, in consultation with line management and address resulting staffing implications. Coordinate employee exits under the Company Exit Scheme with line management and HR ensuring procedures are followed all necessary partners are briefed. Support, train and advise line managers on Company HR policies including Grievance Management, Discipline, Dignity at Work and Company/Union agreements, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Prepare casework and support Employee Relations team with the presentation of cases at third party bodies (e.g. Work Relations Commission, Labour Court). Support line management in applying Company processes to manage and reduce sick absence (e.g. the Attendance Support & Management Process - ASMP, Return to Work Discussions, Occupational Health referrals). Engage with employees on matters relating to their employment and address and matters promptly. Collaborate with our HR colleagues to integrate HR processes to enable effective service delivery to internal customers. Undertake monitoring, analysis and reporting of activity in AMC and support the HR Manager - West in addressing Internal Audit requirements. Carry out such duties as assigned from time to time by the Senior HR Business Partner. Demonstrate An Post values and behaviours in your day to day work and address behaviour that supports/conflicts with them. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience working in a HR role with sound knowledge of the application of HR practices and procedures, working within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate should be educated to degree level in Human Resources Management. CIPD recognition is desirable but not essential. Excellent communication, PC and organisational skills with an ability to maintain confidentiality and to influence stakeholders across the organisation are essential.
