Overview Join to apply for the Resident Engineer role at AtkinsRéalis . Based in Castletymon, Co. Dublin on an estimated 8-month assignment commencing at the end of 2025. AtkinsRéalis is one of the world’s leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.
The role involves site-based supervision, contract administration, stakeholder and client liaison, reporting, monitoring and inspection of construction activities on a road / cycling / active travel scheme.
Responsibilities Site-based supervision of construction activities, including monitoring and inspection of works.
Contract administration and processing of valuations and claims where applicable.
Stakeholder and client liaison and regular reporting on project progress.
Coordination with the site team to ensure safety, quality and programme compliance.
Qualifications Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Relevant years of experience in the civil engineering industry, including supervision and administration of Public Works Contracts for Civil Engineering Works.
Computer literate with experience of AutoCAD (or similar) and Microsoft Office programs.
Experience administering contracts using Public Works forms of contract; processing valuations and assessment of claims.
Experience supervising and inspecting roadworks including pavement, drainage, ducting, signage, lighting, etc.
Experience in the design of road / active travel schemes (desirable but not mandatory).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience in record keeping and reporting on Contractor’s progress.
Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
Knowledge of current health and safety regulations and best practices.
Full driving licence and a valid SafePass.
Personal Qualities Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible, able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.
Positive, approachable and well-motivated, able to work alone or as part of a team.
Terms and Conditions Competitive salary subject to experience.
A vehicle will be provided for the duration of the works.
25 days annual leave, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
Working week of 8 hours per day, 5 days per week; some weekend and night works may be required.
