Resident Engineer

Job DescriptionAtkinsRéalis one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland.We are seeking a Resident Engineer for a high-profile road / cycling / active travel scheme in Castletymon, Co. Dublin, for an estimated 8 months, commencing at the end of 2025.The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in roads/transport infrastructure. The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take responsibility and comfortable in working with a site team.The role will involve site-based supervision, contract administration, stakeholder and client liaison, reporting, monitoring and inspection of construction activities.Desirable skills:Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.Relevant years of experience in the civil engineering industry, including experience in the supervision & administration of Public Works Contracts for Civil Engineering Works.Computer literate and with experience of relevant software (AutoCAD or similar) and Microsoft Office programs.Experience in administering contracts using the Public Works form of contracts; including processing of Valuations, and assessment of Claims.Experience in supervising and inspecting the construction of roadworks including pavement, drainage, ducting, signage, lighting, etc.Experience in the design of road / active travel schemes (desirable but not mandatory).Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Experience in record keeping and reporting on Contractor's progress.Ability to work as part of a team and also work independently and under own initiative to achieve project goals.Knowledge of current H&S regulations and best practices.Full driving licence and a valid SafePass.Personal qualities:Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Flexible approach with ability to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.Positive outlook and approachable manner.Well-motivated, able to work alone or as part of a team when required.Terms and Conditions:Competitive salary subject to experience.A vehicle will be provided for the duration of the works.25 days annual leave, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.Working week of 8 hrs per day, 5 days per week; with possibility of some weekend and night works (only if and when required).About Us:At AtkinsRéalis we put Environment, Sustainability and Health & Safety at the heart of our business strategy.
