Your new company Our client is a contracting company that specialises in deep energy retrofits. They provide energy efficiency solutions to new and existing buildings, including heat pumps, solar PV, insulation systems, ventilation systems, windows, doors, air tightness and general construction work. They provide services to local authorities, private householders and commercial clients. They are now seeking to recruit a Building Surveyor in Galway. Job Description of Building Surveyor: Conduct Site visits. You will be responsible for surveying houses for energy retrofits. This includes all aspects of house inspections, including taking accurate measurements for all aspects being retrofitted. You will need to access people's attics. Take photos of all aspects and rooms in each house. Proficiency in preparing accurate documentation pre- and post-site visits. Assist Project Manager and others in surveying and preparing associated documentation Knowledge of building industry rules and regulations for construction, heating, plumbing and energy systems Adherence to Health and Safety at all times pertaining to the relevant materials and systems being employed. Knowledge of ISO systems and compliance with same Key Requirements: Degree qualified in a construction related course and / or relevant experience in a similar role will be considered. Full clean driving licence Essential Skills / Attributes: High level of accuracy when taking measurements, photos and completing documentation Able to engage confidently with homeowners, clients, site agents and subcontractors A competent user of IT systems, including MS Office suite, and knowledge of SharePoint is an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proactive and results orientated.
