Cloud Security Engineer Location: Dublin | Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Salary: €55,000 - €65,000 DOE A large technology-driven organisation is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to help build, maintain, and protect its cloud environments. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who wants to grow into a cloud security leadership path while working across infrastructure and cybersecurity teams. The Role You'll be responsible for implementing security controls, monitoring cloud services, and supporting secure deployments across the organisation's cloud landscape. Working closely with IT and architecture teams, you'll help ensure that every layer of cloud infrastructure is resilient, compliant, and threat ready. Key Responsibilities * Configure and manage Azure security services, including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, and Key Vault. * Support vulnerability scanning, patching, and compliance initiatives. * Assist in the design and rollout of secure network and identity architectures. * Monitor security alerts and help triage incidents within Azure and hybrid environments. * Automate routine security tasks using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools. * Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed security into CI/CD workflows. * Maintain documentation and contribute to cloud security policies and playbooks. Skills & Experience * 3-5 years of experience in cloud or cybersecurity engineering roles. * Strong understanding of Azure services, IAM, and networking fundamentals. * Experience with SIEM or security monitoring tools (e.g., Sentinel, Splunk). * Familiarity with cloud frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001. * Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is desirable. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Desirable Qualifications * Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate or similar. * Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments. * Knowledge of DevSecOps, container security, or automation pipelines.
