The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the commercial aspects of major civils projects. You will play a pivotal role in driving profitability, managing risks, and ensuring that contractual obligations are met to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability.
- Manage contracts, subcontracts, and procurement processes.
- Oversee cost control, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maximising opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure effective communication.
- Provide detailed commercial reports and financial analysis to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual terms, and legal regulations.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or in a senior commercial role within the civil engineering sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of NEC and other relevant forms of contracts.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable outcomes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and develop a commercial team.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in quantity surveying, construction management, or related field.
