Global Program Associate Director

Overview Global Program Associate Director (GPAD) role at Novartis Ireland. Location: Dublin, Ireland. Full time, Hybrid. The Global Program Management (GPM) team drives the planning and execution of drug development programs and provides transparent program information to support portfolio decisions. GPM associates enable Global Program Teams (GPTs) to deliver the pipeline with optimal strategies, realistic plans, and seamless execution.
To be eligible for this role you must have Project and Program Management experience in the Pharmaceutical, Clinical Research Organisation and/or Biotech/Biopharma industry, with a strong knowledge in Clinical Drug Development.
This role is based in Dublin, Ireland with a hybrid working arrangement requiring 12 days/month in the office. Relocation is not available; candidates must be in location or within commuting distance to the offices.
Your Key Responsibilities Contribute to the development of the program/project strategy and translate the strategy into a realistic Integrated Development Plan (IDP) in collaboration with the Global Program Executive Director (GPED)/Global Program Director (GPD) and GPT members.
Coordinate preparation and compilation of strategic documents and project tollgates for progression through development phases, with GPT and GPED/GPD as applicable.
Identify project risks and issues and contribute to mitigation strategies.
Communicate program/project status, changes, and risks proactively and transparently across the organization.
Prepare comprehensive program/project recommendations and presentations for governance boards.
Manage GPT meeting logistics, prepare agendas and draft minutes, record action items and follow up with GPT members.
Support timely executive communication of project status (e.g., One Pager, Executive Gantt chart, IMB/DevLT updates, GPT minutes).
Lead generation and maintenance of a complete project plan and forecast in the enterprise planning system (e.g., Horizon), ensuring a realistic plan reflecting the strategy.
Partner with Global Program Head (GPH) and GPED or GPD to foster a successful team culture aligned with Novartis values and behaviors and coordinated work toward a common goal.
Demonstrate behavioral strengths such as proactivity, resilience, integrity, excellence, critical thinking, creativity, agility, and influence.
Role Requirements Essential Requirements: Masters or Doctorate in life sciences (or MBA with Bachelor of Science) and 5+ years of Pharma industry experience
5+ years of cross-functional or multi-/complex team experience
Intermediate knowledge in clinical drug development
Strong project/program management skills
Desirable Requirements: Experience working with large-scale, international, multidisciplinary drug development teams
Expert planning and tracking skills with proficiency in program management tools
Well organized, results-focused, able to manage multiple projects with strong time management
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for bridging across diverse, cross-functional, multinational, geographically dispersed teams
