Work Shop Controller An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Controller to join this well established and busy Motor Accident Repair Centre based in Ennis, Co. Clare. This position requires a person with great discipline and attention to detail in order to ensure that every repair meets not only company standard, but also the customer's approval. The Workshop Controller must be an effective leader and motivator. This person must be capable of delegating responsibilities to many different personalities while accepting the challenge of numerous kinds of repair problems. The ideal candidate must have worked previously in a workshop control position and have good organisational and people management skills as well as having a hands on approach. The Workshop Controller is typically a problem solver. This position will suit an enthusiastic individual who enjoys a busy role. Knowledge of the Autoflow Control software will be an advantage. The main purpose of this role to effectively maintain company standards of productivity, profitability, quality and customer satisfaction. To provide effective leadership, direction and motivation for all workshop staff. Your responsibilities will include: Delegating workloads to productive staff in our workshop Supervising Vehicle Repair Technicians- Paint Sprayers, Panel Beaters and METs . Ensure all work carried out is to the highest possible standard of workmanship and efficiency as per industry guidelines, in order to ensure the maximum utilisation of time available. Ensuring work in progress deadlines are met and carried out in a cost effective manner To correctly interpret instructions from the job card/repair orders, to follow all documented quality procedures and to ensure that Vehicle Repair Technicians comply with repair instructions and stipulated settings and tolerances from manufacturer manuals, bulletins, check sheets etc. To obtain and record any necessary technical data. To ensure that work is completed by the times required and report any likely delays to the Customer Care Team as early as possible. To check and test vehicles and work, as required by documented procedures. Continually inspect the work in process to spot any additional repairs necessary that were missed on the original estimate. Notify the appropriate person immediately of any additional damage so that a supplement can be prepared. Timing is critical Gaining authorisation through our Customer Care Team from customers and insurance companies to carry out additional work Frequently inspect the work in process to identify any special repair problems, and to verify that the quality meets or exceeds company standards, especially prior to entering the paint shop, pre-assembly and prior to customer delivery. Testing and inspection procedures prior to final cleaning (road test, light check, etc.) Careful review of the administrative documentation before, during, after repairs (invoicing, supplements, notes, job costing reportsand any special notes to ensure that everything is in order. Close supervision of the sublet vendors' quality and delivery times. Keep in mind that the performance of any sublet vendors is a direct reflection on your own company performance. Continually scans the workshop for methods to save time or money. An example might be when a technician is preparing to apply primer to a vehicle, and another technician has a job just about ready for primer, then the necessary steps should be taken to consolidate the two jobs. Adhering to companys Health and Safety regulations to prevent accidents within the workplace. Attend daily control meeting. Performance measurement of each job, technician and team each day. Introduce and manageIncentives for workers tied to performance and measurement. Research and provide adequate ongoing training for all production staff. Make certain that each member of the production staff remains current on all certifications, qualifications and licensing relative to their positions. Conduct regular workshop meetings with all production staff and devote a portion of the time to training and education. Manage the workshop staff's time-off for annual and personal leave, so that it does not restrict the ability of the shop to meet standard production goals. Monitor and control production overtime. Monitor the individual performance of the production staff on a regular basis. Pay particular attention to those individuals whose performance exceeds their standards or those employees who fall below standard. Either situation should be recognised promptly Supervise the maintenance and housekeeping of all production work areas and equipment. Set a good example by maintaining a healthy work attitude and cooperating with other managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork Pay: €45,000- €60,000 based on experience Benefits: Bike to work scheme Employee assistance programme (EAP), On-site parking Schedule: Monday to Friday Licence/Certification: B Driving Licence (preferred) Work authorisation: Ireland (required) Work Location:In person
