Overview

We are looking for a Solution Architect with Java/Cloud experience to play a key technical role in several client projects. You will need expertise in implementing solutions using various tech stacks and be comfortable using Java/Cloud Technologies. There are significant progression opportunities for this candidate as we are building a new service line in this area to supplement our 500 strong workforce in Dublin.

Responsibilities

- Shape solution options and influence strategic direction to ensure that the solutions designed are architecturally aligned.
- Develop solution designs and supporting technical design documentation in compliance with architectural strategies (vision and roadmap) and principles.
- Ensure that solutions adhere to required standards on security, infrastructure, services, delivery, and quality assurance to ensure business solutions bring real value to the organisation.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the specific business areas to which you are aligned and have an understanding of organisational interdependencies to ensure an enterprise view when designing business solutions.
- Maintain relationships with Enterprise Architecture, Business Analysis, and IT Delivery to influence decisions made in the scoping of projects and to influence architectural direction.
- Promote awareness of new and emerging technologies among staff and the business.
- Maintain a high level of business engagement to inspire confidence in IT as a trusted business partner.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement in the Solution Architecture team by looking for and driving improvements to ‘ways of working’, processes, tools, and techniques.
- Provide relevant skills transfer, coaching, and mentoring to team members to share expertise.

Qualifications

- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.

Essential Skills

- Client-facing skills.
- People management skills - introducing and building ways in which people can learn from each other, encouraging mentoring and the transfer of knowledge by designing and delivering learning interventions.
- Teamwork and emotional intelligence.
- Good self-management – continuous performance is both an objective and a mindset.

Experience

- Experience with Java/Cloud is a must for this role.
- 4 years experience in designing and delivering solutions for blue-chip organisations.
- 10 years of overall IT experience, potentially in a variety of roles.
- Experience in application development in Java.
- Experience with microservices and containerisation.
- Ability to produce concise, accurate solution designs to meet business problems.
- Significant experience in design and systems architecture.
- Significant experience in providing technical solutions to business problems.
- Experience of senior stakeholder engagement.
- The ability to influence stakeholder decision-making based on your expertise.
