You will be working with our customers to help solve the data-centric problems that they face using a variety of applications and tool kits, including geographic information systems (GIS), databases and 1Spatial technologies.

The role will be varied and interesting with an opportunity to work with data from different industries in both spatial and non-spatial formats. There will be an opportunity and requirement for travel to customer locations and events throughout Ireland and the UK.

You will be responsible for:

As a Managing Consultant at 1Spatial Ireland, you will lead teams responsible for delivering customer‑focused projects, as well as contributing to the development of 1Spatial products and solutions. You will frequently work closely with our customers, so a confident and engaging customer‑facing persona is essential. As an experienced technical leader in geospatial, you will manage a local virtual team of technical consultants, support engineers, and developers to deliver solutions while supporting individuals in their career development and progression.

The work will utilise 1Spatial’s own rules‑based product solutions, third‑party products such as FME from Safe Software, Esri ArcGIS, VertiGIS and open‑source technologies including GeoServer, QGIS and PostGIS. You will use these tools to deliver enterprise geospatial solutions that enable our customers to automate the modification, management, and reuse of complex data. You will also work in cooperation with the sales team to identify opportunities, construct demonstrations and deliver presentations to win business.

The role will report to the UK & Ireland Head of Delivery and depending on candidate experience there may be the opportunity for additional operational leadership responsibilities for the 1Spatial Ireland business unit.

At 1Spatial, we leverage the SFIA levels of responsibility to define the various job levels and to facilitate career growth. This particular position is aimed at candidates who are currently at SFIA level 5‑7; here are some specific qualifications and requirements for this role:

A degree in a relevant field such as Geographical Science, Data Science, GIS, or equivalent practical experience.

Residency in Ireland is a key requirement of this role.

A pragmatic approach to problem‑solving, coupled with strong customer engagement skills, sharp analytical abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.

A genuine enthusiasm for learning, enhancing your skills, and gaining hands‑on experience.

Experience in line management of technical staff, establishing objectives and career development plans.

Familiarity with spatial technologies and data, particularly with tools like GeoServer, Safe FME, Esri ArcGIS, QGIS or VertiGIS.

Experience with programming or data processing languages such as Python, R, SQL and PL/SQL, is a plus.

Familiarity with geospatial solution architectures and web technology.

Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Azure, to design and deliver enterprise geospatial solutions.

Experience with database administration, preferably in Oracle, is a plus.

A willingness to complete security clearance checks for Government‑related projects.
