Role: Facilities Technician Salary: €56,000 per annum Duration: Permanent Location: North Dublin Benefits: Pension contribution, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, life cover, individual healthcare, EAP, staff discount, ongoing training and development opportunities, Facilities Technician Exciting opportunity to join a leading logistics and supply chain operation, managing the full scope of maintenance and service contracts across a complex multi-temperature site. The facility operates across chilled, frozen, and ambient environments, requiring an experienced technician with a proactive approach to both day-to-day maintenance and long-term asset management. This is a hands-on position for a multi-skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced setting where high standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance are essential. You will provide critical electrical and mechanical support, ensuring operational continuity and driving continuous improvement across site infrastructure and equipment. This includes in-depth troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control systems, as well as managing and maintaining compressed air and industrial refrigeration systems. The role demands a high level of autonomy and initiative, with responsibility for liaising with third-party contractors, managing service-level agreements and leading preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and optimise performance. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all site maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with service standards and regulatory requirements Deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair services across multi-temperature environments Provide electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, covering motors, drives, control systems, and circuit-level diagnostics Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic control systems Manage and monitor compressed air and refrigeration systems, identifying issues before they escalate Ensure all work adheres to health and safety standards and company compliance protocols Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process and equipment upgrades Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to schedule work, oversee projects, and manage asset lifecycle documentation Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the facility Maintain accurate maintenance logs and participate in audits, inspections, and reviews Requirements: Recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) Proven experience in a facilities, engineering, or maintenance technician role within a logistics, manufacturing, or large retail environment Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including fault finding and repair Experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control systems Competent in maintaining compressed air and industrial refrigeration systems Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage contractors and prioritise workloads effectively Understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices in a high-risk operational setting Computer-literate, with experience using CMMS or digital maintenance tracking systems What to do next: If youre interested in this role, click apply now.
