Purpose of the Post: The Clinical Specialist Podiatrist (Musculoskeletal) will be responsible for leading the development of a high quality service to Musculoskeletal service users. In this role the Clinical Specialist Podiatrist will be responsible for providing technical support to the project team in the area of MSK assessment and offloading device prescription as well as providing clinical supervision to all podiatrists on the team engaged with specialist diabetic foot assessment to ensure the highest standards of assessment are being met. They will evaluate the progress of the project implementation plan with the project lead and provide recommendations for the co-ordination of strategic planning and development of specialist podiatrist musculoskeletal foot service delivery. Duties and responsibilities: To act as a Podiatry Lead within the Multidisciplinary team of Specialists involved in the management of foot and ankle pathology. Provide a specialist service within primary care and liaise with the hospital teams and networks. Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, carers and others, on matters relating to the management and treatment of patients with highly complex MSK foot pathology. Be responsible for collating and monitoring data relating to the specialist area and to prepare activity reports on this area for the project lead. Participate in collaborative interdisciplinary research. Inform the project lead of changes or trends within service provision to diabetes patients and provide recommendations on implementing changes. Implement agreed policies, procedures and safe professional practice by adhering to relevant legislation, regulations and standards. Participate in the business planning aspect of the MSK specialist team and contribute to the business planning process the podiatry service. Essential Requirements: BSc (Hons) in Podiatry (or validated equivalent) 5+ years post-qualification experience (3 years in MSK preferred) Strong CPD in MSK/biomechanics/orthotics Experience in orthotic fitting, casting, and device prescription Proven leadership in audits, research or service development Experience with remote MSK triage or pathways Confidence with computerised gait analysis Familiarity with national diabetes foot management pathways (a plus) What you need to do now: For more information about this opportunity, please reach out confidentially to Charlene Cooke by email or telephone .
