As part of our continued growth & expansion, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller to join our dynamic and growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate management accounts to tight deadlines, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and associated reporting.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, analysing variances and providing actionable insights.
- Business Partnering: Liaise with Business Leaders on mission P&L variances and assist with reports to monitor performance metrics.
- Tax Compliance: Oversee tax compliance activities, including VAT returns, corporation tax, and other statutory filings.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Expense Management: Monitor and control company expenses, ensuring all expenditures are within budget and properly authorized.
- Systems and Processes: Maintain and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial information is accurately captured and reported.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within the IT or managed services sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero). Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of Irish accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
