Lending Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with lending experience to lead and manage a team of three Loans Officers and contribute to the growth plans of the Credit Union. It is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway and 2 days working remotely each week. The position would suit an individual with lending experience in a credit union, bank or non-bank lender.
Reporting to the CEO, the main responsibilities of the Lending Manager are to:
Manage the lending function and service delivery to borrowers.
Ensure effective assessment of credit applications in line with documented credit policies and procedures.
Provide timely and adequate management and KPI reporting.
Manage budget within the overall credit union budget cycle.
In conjunction with the Compliance Officer, ensure regulatory compliance with EU and Irish requirements.
Contribute to the design and development of new and innovative lending products and services for personal, SME, mortgage, community and agricultural lending.
Support the Marketing Officer to create effective marketing campaigns for lending products and related services.
Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of targets, goals and objectives from the strategic plan.
Review the loan portfolio regularly to identify emerging risks, trends or opportunities for growth
Undertake performance appraisals and training of the lending team.
Work effectively and collaboratively with the senior management team and CEO to develop and enhance the credit union, its organisation capabilities and its reputation with all stakeholders

The successful candidate will have:
- A relevant lending qualification that meets the Minimum Competency Requirements of the Central Bank of Ireland for the role.
- A minimum of 5 years lending experience in one or more areas of personal, SME, mortgage, community and agricultural lending.
- Significant experience in people management, performance management, and team leadership.
- A strong understanding of lending operations in retail financial services, including branch, online and service centre delivery channels.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to contribute effectively as a member of the Senior Management Team.
The position of Lending Manager is a Controlled Function (PCF) subject to the Central Bank of Ireland's Fitness & Probity Standards and Minimum Competency Requirements.
Salary will be highly competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
