About the Role

Storyful is looking for a visionary and dynamic Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) to lead our global technology and product strategy and innovation. Based in Dublin, the CPTO will be responsible for the technology, product, and IT teams, driving the evolution of Storyful's products and platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of customers while positioning Storyful as a market leader in media intelligence. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of digital media by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology & Product Strategy and Innovation

1. Develop and execute a forward-thinking product and technology strategy aligned with Storyful's mission and business goals.

2. Lead the integration of emerging technologies such as AI/ML, advanced data analytics, and automation to enhance product capabilities, scalability, and user experiences.

3. Champion innovative solutions that improve user-generated content discovery, verification, and delivery processes.

4. Define and execute the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market opportunities, and evolving customer needs.

5. Leverage data-driven insights and internal and customer feedback to inform product development and ensure continuous improvement.

Platform Development and Optimization

1. Oversee the design, development, and scaling of Storyful's core product offerings across News & Intelligence to ensure efficiency, scalability, and security.

2. Ensure seamless integration of new technologies and tools with existing systems.

3. Optimize workflows for user-generated content curation and delivery, enhancing speed and accuracy.

4. Drive a user-first approach in product design and development, ensuring exceptional usability, accessibility, and customer engagement.

Executive Leadership and Team Development

1. Build, mentor, and lead high-performing technology and product teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including editorial, intelligence, and commercial, to align product and technology initiatives with business priorities.

3. Serve as a thought leader, providing product and technical guidance and insights to the executive leadership team.

4. Ensure that product, technology, and business goals are fully aligned, prioritizing features that drive the most value for users and the company.

Data Strategy and Insights

1. Drive the development of robust data platforms to support insights, reporting, and analytics for internal and external stakeholders.

2. Leverage technology to enhance Storyful's capabilities in verifying and analyzing social media content at scale.

3. Develop and execute a product-led growth strategy, using data analytics and experimentation to drive adoption, engagement, and retention.

Governance, Security, and Compliance

1. Ensure that all technology and product systems and practices comply with global data security and privacy standards.

2. Implement best practices for risk management, system reliability, and disaster recovery.

3. Align product development with regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance while maintaining innovation.

Key Qualifications

1. Proven experience in a senior product and technology leadership role, ideally within media, social intelligence, or a fast-paced tech environment.

2. Strong expertise in data-driven technologies, AI/ML, cloud platforms, and API-driven architectures.

3. Exceptional track record of managing end-to-end product and technology development, including strategy, design, and delivery.

4. Deep experience in product management, including defining roadmaps, launching new products, and scaling existing offerings.

5. Demonstrated ability to scale products and technology platforms in line with business growth.

6. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

7. In-depth understanding of content verification, media platforms, or social data insights is a significant advantage.

8. Proven ability to balance product innovation with commercial objectives, driving revenue growth through customer-focused solutions.
