Our client, a well established Kerry based main contractor is looking for a motivated and skilled Site Engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to join the team on a permanent basis in Kerry.
Job Summary:
As a Site Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of construction projects by accurately translating design plans and specifications into on-site measurements and markings. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within strict timelines.
Responsibilities :
Interpret design plans, specifications, and technical drawings to determine accurate on-site locations, measurements, and levels for construction activities.
Utilize surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels, to carry out accurate measurements and set out reference points.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate implementation of design plans and resolve any discrepancies or design-related issues.
Conduct on-site surveys to establish ground conditions, existing structures, and utilities, and incorporate this information into setting out plans.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including setting out records, as-built drawings, and quality control reports.
Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant software tools for data analysis, modelling, and documentation purposes.
Provide guidance and technical support to construction teams and subcontractors to ensure accurate execution of setting out activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of construction techniques, surveying methods, and relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
Proficiency in using surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels.
Familiarity with Irish building regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
Valid driver’s license as there may be a requirement to travel to different sites in the area.
