Responsibilities: Carry out routine laboratory testing and sampling
Verify cleaning using microbiological swabbing
Carry out microbiological testing and Trichinella testing
Monitor carcass quality
Communicate with and report to customer requests for technical information
Maintain and update laboratory procedures manual
Ensure daily tasks are completed and results are actioned where required
Review results records weekly, ensuring accuracy and proper sign-off
Generate weekly reports for QA Manager and Veterinary Inspector
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and legislation, liaising with DAFF and DAFM officials
Manage corrective and preventative actions, non-conforming products, and adherence to customer specifications
Implement and maintain HACCP and hygiene requirements
Review product and process development
Manage sanitation and cleaning procedures
Assist in managing the food safety and quality management system
Maintain standards such as BRC, Bord Bia MPQAS, and retailer/customer standards for third-party accreditation
Perform other tasks as assigned by the company and QA manager
Skills and Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Science or Agriculture
At least 2 years' experience in QA within a food factory environment
Teamwork, attention to detail, communication skills, laboratory experience, and knowledge of quality assurance
