Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - Cork City Centre My client is hiring a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join their dynamic maintenance team in Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional who takes pride in their craft, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to play a key role in keeping a large, modern fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. Location: Cork City Centre Schedule: Monday to Friday (occasional weekend cover may be required) Salary: Starting at €43,317.54, increasing up to €54,320.99, depending on experience About the Role You'll be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles to the highest safety and performance standards. Working as part of a skilled team, you'll ensure vehicles are fully operational, compliant, and ready for service. What You'll Do Carry out routine and preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all fleet vehicles Proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalate Use tools, parts, and resources efficiently to minimise downtime Complete all repairs safely, accurately, and within agreed timelines Maintain accurate service and defect records Support apprentices with hands-on training and safe working practices Ensure vehicles are road-ready and presented in excellent condition Take part in ongoing technical training and upskilling opportunities Follow all health, safety, and environmental standards What We're Looking For ? Essential: QQI Level 6 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or Construction Plant Fitting (or equivalent) Proven experience in a heavy vehicle maintenance environment Strong diagnostic, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills Excellent teamwork and communication abilities Solid understanding of safety standards and inspection procedures Ability to work independently and manage time effectively ? Desirable (Not Essential): Bus Licence (Category D) Breakdown/Recovery experience Manual Handling, Air Conditioning, or Working at Heights certification Why Join?
