About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Fitter to join our team in the Cork region. This role involves the operation, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater treatment systems. A solid understanding of treatment processes will be required and full training provided. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and operational tasks on treatment plant equipment. Carry out general duties both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions. Undertake heavy manual work as required. Conduct specialised mechanical preventative maintenance and repairs. Work independently at times, adhering strictly to safety procedures and formal protocols. Participate in a regular standby and call-out rota. Key Competencies & Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical background; process experience is an advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in reading and understanding technical documentation in English. Computer literate, with the ability to use spreadsheets and basic software applications. Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving abilities. Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently. Eagerness to learn and grow within the water and wastewater industry. Requirements: Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plants (similar process experience will be considered). Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical plant and machinery. Skilled in both preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance. Reside locally to ensure timely access to assigned sites. Possess a full, clean driving licence.
