Fingal, Ireland IBM Qatar Full time

Introduction
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, let's talk.

Your Role and Responsibilities
You will be working on one of the best APM Observability products on the market, Instana. Instana was created to provide Observability for modern microservices applications as well as to modernize APM by fueling data with AI and Automation, out of the box.

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to help drive synergies between Instana and other IBM products within our IT Automation portfolio. An ideal candidate would be a motivated, creative problem solver with excellent communication skills who is not afraid of an incredibly technical product. This role blends technical and business acumen along with team collaboration.

The product manager is responsible for the product strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of the product integrations. The product manager ensures alignment with the broader product and portfolio business direction. This role is both strategic and tactical in nature. As a product manager, you will collaborate with customers and partners as well as internally with disciplines across the organization such as development, design, sales, marketing, and executives. The product manager leads the direction, delivery and growth, market value and requirements for the product area, bringing new offerings and capabilities to market in the observability space.

Product Managers (PM) operate in a demanding role at the epicenter of multidisciplinary teams which include design, engineering, sales, marketing, finance and legal. In this role, you’ll play a central role leading and orchestrating the definition of product requirements and go-to-market strategy to solve data challenges of enterprise and mid-market clients. This role requires collaboration and coordination across internal and external teams and will be visible at the highest levels of our organization.

What you'll do:

1. Own product synergies between Instana and other IBM products as well as other 3rd party products, including becoming a technical SME for that area.
2. Work with customers and our field to identify necessary improvements to existing functionality, as well as define new functionality to maximize customer adoption and business value with the product.
3. Work with development and testing teams to define clear, accomplishable requirements for functionality.
4. Use a combination of customer data and market research to prioritize new functionality into an aggressive roadmap that balances new functionality, improvements, and technical debt.
5. Ensure field teams have the content and context necessary to help customers leverage all functionality (new and existing) in your defined area.
6. Maintain a current understanding of industry and technology trends.

What you'll bring:

1. A customer-centric focus on how to deliver business value with a keen understanding of the IT enterprise ecosystem.
2. Enjoy working with highly technical customers and team members.
3. Proven ability to work with sales and sales engineering teams.
4. Proven ability to work with development teams.
5. Proven ability to work with large enterprise customers and executives.
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to make recommendations and measure success.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

1. 3+ years of product management experience which includes:

- SaaS products
- Container platforms
- Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Serverless (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Managing enterprise APM or Observability solutions.
- Driving product ownership and growth.
- Present roadmaps to customers and/or speak at public events.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

1. Proven experience driving large product growth on a cloud focused platform or product.
2. Keen understanding of enterprise best practices of cloud management.
3. A deep understanding of the cloud native trends and technology stacks specifically in the context of microservice application management.
