Site Supervisor Asphalt Surfacing Arkil Ltd Role Overview Arkil Ltd is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Site Supervisor to oversee asphalt surfacing operations across its Kildare-based projects. The ideal candidate will be an Engineer or Technician with experience in road surfacing, civil engineering, or construction management. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of surfacing works in line with Arkils operational standards and sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day asphalt surfacing operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Coordinate surfacing crews, subcontractors, and plant resources to meet production targets and deadlines. Conduct site inspections, set out works, and maintain accurate records of progress, materials, and quality control. Liaise with clients, local authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Implement and monitor traffic management plans and ensure all works are carried out safely and efficiently. Support the Contracts Manager in planning, reporting, and resource allocation. Promote the use of sustainable surfacing practices, including Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) and Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), in line with Arkils environmental initiatives. Candidate Profile Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years experience in road surfacing or civil engineering projects, preferably in a supervisory capacity. Strong understanding of asphalt production, laying techniques, and quality standards. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, Safe Pass, and Manual Handling certification (required). Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Proficiency in setting out, surveying, and interpreting technical drawings. Desirable Qualifications Experience with RAP and WMA technologies.
