Overview Axiseng is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead innovative, sustainable engineering projects across Ireland. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping efficient, low-energy building solutions while managing project teams and technical delivery across a range of sectors. We’re looking for someone who thrives on technical excellence, effective leadership, and collaborative problem-solving.
Responsibilities Lead the mechanical design process across multiple project phases
Oversee design layouts, schematics, calculations, and technical documentation
Perform value engineering reviews to optimise system performance and cost
Ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with client requirements
Coordinate internal project resources and manage technical deliverables
Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors
Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality checks throughout delivery
Support project budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting
Provide guidance and technical oversight to junior team members
Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and close-out actions
Stay up to date with best practices, standards, and industry trends
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering
Strong experience in building services/mechanical design for construction projects
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex projects
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
Proficient in tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and other design platforms
Familiarity with regulatory codes, industry standards, and cost control practices
Excellent communicator and confident stakeholder liaison
