Experience Level Required:

It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed for this role has not less than 4 years’ relevant experience in software testing role. Any other experience levels less than this will not be accepted.

Full Driving License required. Occasional travel may be required (own car required) and standard Civil Service T & S rates will apply.

Key Deliverables:

1. Management of all the client testing and validation activities through the system development life cycle (SDLC), covering quality assurance of CoVIS Contractor system testing, functional integration testing and ultimately client regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
2. Overseeing and managing the design, maintenance and execution of robust test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, test data in line with Test Strategies.
3. Ensuring performance / stress / volume testing of non-functional requirements is conducted, and findings progressed.
4. Ensuring maintenance and completeness of requirements traceability matrix throughout test phase.
5. Driving communication between testing, business analysis, architecture and development / production support teams to ensure each requirement has adequate test coverage.
6. Resource planning and developing release work plans and schedules for validation and execution of test cases in line with the overall agreed CoVIS Contractor program of work.
7. Reviewing and inputting as required into overall project timelines, project and cost estimation, budget development and cost control for the applications / projects in scope from a testing perspective.
8. Inputting into project approval and sign off, for all test activity and documentation.
9. Engagement and coordination with Third party vendors in relation to aspects of software testing and validation.
10. Reviewing CoVIS Contractor or other third-party test documentation.
11. Management of testing risks and issues.
12. Reviewing and developing system enhancement requirements and system changes.
13. Day to day management of defects raised with CoVIS Contractor from initial logging right through to defect resolution in production.
14. Chairing test review meetings as appropriate and delivery of test status reports to key stakeholders.
15. Management of all testing documentation on the Authority’s Sharepoint site.
16. Co-ordination of release plans and communications to system users.
17. Providing independent software quality assurance in relation to the CoVIS Contractor’s deliverables and providing best practice guidance to the Authority with regard to software testing.
18. Coordinating internal testing resources which may be allocated from time to time as required.

The above is intended as a guide to the general range of deliverables and is intended to be neither definitive nor restrictive. It will be subject to periodic review with the contractor. Furthermore, it is important to note that the Resource will not have a team of testers available and will therefore be required to engage with the business regarding organisation of UAT testing including planning and coordination of same.

Requirements

1. Practical experience of overseeing and managing the design, maintenance and execution of robust test plans, test scenarios, test scripts and test data, on time and to agreed standards, and recording and analysing test results, and reports on any unexpected or unsatisfactory outcomes. Provide support to production environment release validation and production bug troubleshooting.
2. Practical experience of resourcing planning and development of release work plans and schedules for validation and execution of test cases; providing reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with the overall project.
3. Practical experience of driving communication between the test, business analysis, architecture, development / production support teams to ensure each requirement has adequate test coverage and practical experience of providing support to Business users on testing activities in UAT.
4. Practical experience of working with restful APIs, performing Soap Webservice Functional testing on Postman and / or SoapUI as well as practical experience of manual functional and non-functional testing; experience of working with test management systems (e.g. Azure Dev Ops / Bugzilla / Jira or equivalent).
