Medical Secretary - Paediatrics Full-time permanent Join our dedicated paediatric practice as a Medical Secretary and play a key role in delivering compassionate, efficient care to our patients. This role requires a compassionate and responsible individual who can help manage the day to day running of the Consultants' practice, with responsibility for administration tasks, operational efficiencies, and providing the best possible service to patients and parents/guardians. The successful candidate will b e flexible, team player and a have a professional manner focused on patient service. This role in a modern practice will suit someone who is comfortable multi-tasking and enjoys working in a busy environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide a friendly, courteous, and efficient reception service, with a proven track record in providing excellent customer service. Schedule appointments and maintain Consultant's diary. Organising the daily patient list and drawing the relevant files Ordering office supplies and overseeing the maintenance of office equipment Organising meetings and taking minutes Responding to queries from patients/parents/guardians Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records Typing letters, clinical reports and transcriptions and updating databases and spreadsheets Maintaining total confidentiality of personal and financial data Happy and willing to chaperone children where appropriate. This may also include during a procedure or consult. Ability to manage finances which includes billing. The ideal candidate will: Hold a relevant secretarial or business qualification and have achieved an excellent level of proficiency in same. A minimum of 3 years relevant experience and strong audiotyping skills are essential. Have permission to work in Ireland on a full-time basis. Ideally have previous experience with patient management systems would be a distinct advantage. Have a genuine love for working with children and the ability to connect with them. Will have to undergo a "Working with children and vulnerable adult" check as part of the National Child Protection policy. Have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and have the ability to work on his/her own initiative. Have excellent technical ability with MS Word, Excel, and similar IT software. Have excellent administration and organisation skills with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential for the role. Proven experience dealing with confidential information and understanding GDPR. Experience of working with a patient management system and/or in a healthcare environment would be a distinct advantage. Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment. Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative. Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing environment. Fluency in Professional English, both verbal and written, is a pre-requisite for this role.
