The Role: AsIAm is seeking a Training Officerto deliver our As We Are Teen Programmean educational, evidence-informed workshop series supporting Autistic teenagers and their parents in understanding identity, mental health, and self-advocacy. Reporting to the Training Managerand supported by the Training and Accreditation Team, the Training Officer will plan, deliver, and evaluate group-based workshops across CHO/CDNT areas in line with the HSEs Progressing Disability Services objectives. This position will suit a creative, empathetic, and experienced professional passionate about empowering Autistic young people to understand themselves and thrive within their communities. We particularly welcome applications from within the Autism community. Key Responsibilities: General Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, neuroaffirmative workshops for Autistic teenagers and their parents. Build trusting relationships with participants, families, and CDNT partners. Promote inclusion, belonging, and empowerment within all aspects of programme delivery. Specific Responsibilities: Facilitate group sessions for teenagers (aged 1317) on topics including identity, friendships, mental health, and self-advocacy. Deliver complementary workshops for parents on supporting Autistic teens through adolescence, mental health, and identity. Conduct initial consultations with CDNT Managers to tailor workshop content to regional needs. Gather participant feedback and contribute to programme evaluation and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, child protection, and data protection policies. Collaborate with the Training Manager and Training Team to review and refine content. Maintain accurate attendance and outcome data for reporting to funders and management. Key Requirements: Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Required Relevant Degree in Education, Youth Work, Social Care, Psychology, or related field. or A combination of lived experience, autism-related certifications, and a demonstrable track record of success in similar roles could also be considered. Extensive Knowledge of Autism. Minimum 2 years experience working with young people in an educational, therapeutic, or community setting. Experience delivering group-based workshops or training sessions. Knowledge and understanding of Autism and neuroaffirmative practice essential. Experience working in partnership with families and/or multidisciplinary teams desirable. Lived experience of Autism or neurodivergence is particularly welcome. Skills and Competencies: Excellent facilitation and communication skills with young people and parents. Ability to create safe, inclusive group environments. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Empathy, patience, and commitment to empowering autistic youth. Willingness to travel nationally and work occasional evenings/weekends. Full, clean driving license. Contract Duration This is a 2 Year fixed term contract. Salary & Benefits Salary will align with Grade IV as set out in the HSE Consolidated Pay Grades. In addition, we offer: Annual leave allowance of 23 days p.a., with incremental increases based on length of service. Additional paid time off (company days) as approved by Management. Healthcare Benefit available after successful completion of probation. Location / Working Hours The role is based in AsIAms head office in Blackrock, Dublin and is Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with a requirement for travel. Given the nature of the role, the role holder is required to have a degree of flexibility with regard to working hours as the role will require some evening and weekend work.?Hybrid working arrangements can be facilitated for this role in agreement with the line manager.
